It’s hard to prove such a parallel universe exists, but many cosmologists (scientists who study the structure and evolution of the universe) are actively investigating the possibilities.

A recent article in the NY Times, Big Brain Theory: Have Cosmologists Lost Theirs, describes some of the new work. The article talks about “the growing stream of debate and dueling papers” and “multiple universes.” The cosmologists “speak with apparent aplomb about gazillions of parallel universes.” The apparent contradictions are called the Boltzmann Brain Problem, after an Austrian physicist Ludwig Boltzmann who first raised the possibilities of fluctuations in the universe back in the 19th century.

It seems that Whu’s world is all too possible.

Who is this book for?

When I wrote When Comes Such Another, I envisioned potential readers to range in age from teenagers to adults. The eighth grade students at Portsmouth Middle School who have been reading the book tell me that students younger than they are might struggle some, but I suspect that some sixth and seventh graders could easily manage the concepts in the book. Several adults have read it and liked it. What do you think? What is the range of ages for which the book is appropriate?

Feedback on the book

Tell me what you think of the book.
